James Eversole's daughter nominates Mendy Barnes, her father's hospice nurse, for the care she gave in his final day. Mendy explained gently and honestly what was happening, cared for James, and encouraged his daughter to simply be present with him as his daughter rather than his caregiver. She also sang to James as she stroked his face, and after he passed, she sang that same song again at his funeral at the family's request. His daughter is grateful for the compassion Mendy showed both her father and their family.
